The role of the Executive Committee of the WIB is to provide leadership and guidance to the WIB and to develop policy recommendations that ensure the continuity of the WIB’s total mission. Furthermore, this committee is responsible for projecting the training needs of the local labor market area and researching and recruiting employers. The Executive Committee is also responsible obtaining nominations for vacancies in each of the required categories of the WIB. |

The role of the Literacy Committee of the WIB is to develop strategies to improve the system of delivering ESL, basic skills, workplace and computer literacy training for adults to meet the overwhelming need in Union County for these services. This committee reviews RFPs under WIA Title II and make allocation recommendations to the Executive Committee of the WIB. |

The role of the Welfare-to-Work Committee of the WIB is to plan for the economic self-sufficiency of welfare customers by using Work First NJ funds (DFD, TANF, GA, FS). This is to be accomplished by creating a system responsive to improving the skill levels of customers so that they may obtain and maintain employment, and become self-sufficient. The Committee will also identify and address the needs of employers to ensure that workplace readiness and literacy skills are relevant to employment opportunities. |

The role of the One-Stop Committee of the WIB is to ensure that the Operator provide easy client-access to information through user-friendly technology systems. In addition, this committee is charged with establishing quantifiable and objective performance measures for programs and services within the One-Stop Operating System (OSOS). |

The Youth Investment Council (YIC) of the WIB provides guidance and plans for youth focused workforce activities, and a forum for members to consider the impact that local policy-making has on the lives of the County’s youth. The role of the Council encompasses setting priorities for funding, building collaborations and partnerships with youth programs to build a service system responsive to their needs. |

The role of the Request For Proposal (RFP) Review Committee of the WIB is to establish, review, and formulate Request for Proposals and review training programs to determine their appropriateness in the development of Individual Training Accounts (ITAs). Appropriate ITA development is critical as we consider training needs of our clients in preparation for successful labor exchange. |
