Language Resource Network

One such area identified at a special meeting with the Bias Officers in May 2002 meet was to identify language resources that they could call upon for assistance as part of their routine duties and/or investigations. An additional need was multi-lingual resources that could be readily available in the municipal court system. Rather than reinventing the wheel, the UCHRC attempted to identify various existing resources that are available and might be called on to assist law enforcement and other individuals and organizations with interpretation and translation services. We are happy to report that this need has been met for

the most part, with resources available for law enforcement on the state level, and through the medical community.

The Commission will continue to explore possibilities and options as additional needs are identified. As always, input from interested parties in the community are more than welcome.
