Another area we continue to explore to enhance communication and relations is in increasing awareness and understanding of a particular people’s culture, customs and orientations. In the aftermath of September 11th, 2001, the need has surfaced to continue to learn more about the cultures and practices of the Muslim and Arab-American communities, and, with the continued population growth of certain minority groups, the Latinos/as and Haitian communities.
