NJDOT Notification of Utility Work On Rte 1&9 Newark/Elizabeth

Union County has been advised by the NJDOT of utility upgrades that will be performed by PSE&G on the southbound lanes of Route 1&9. Work will takes place along a three mile stretch of roadway between Newark and Elizabeth (in the vicinity of Newark Airport).

Work is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, February 18, 2013. The duration of this project is yet to be determined and will be posted when it becomes available.

Motorists should anticipate shoulder closures, lane shifts, lane restrictions, lane closures, and possible detours during the various phases of the project.
