The Counter-Terrorism Task Force is working primarily in three areas:

1. prevention;

2. incident control; and

3. education and awareness.

In the prevention area, we are collecting intelligence information from many different sources. After investigation, that information is disseminated to the Chiefs of Police within the County as well as to the Counter-Terrorism Task Force of the F.B.I. and other State and Federal agencies.

In dealing with incident control, we determine the needs of the Task Force with regard to equipment in order to insure that a proper response will occur to any nuclear, biological or chemical attack. We will also engage in training of key personnel so that special needs of responding agencies will be addressed.

We have established a speakers bureau to support our goals of education and awareness. Members of the Prosecutor’s team will be available to speak to corporate representatives and civic groups. It is an essential part of our mission to insure that our citizens are aware that they must be the "eyes and ears" for the law enforcement community.
