ID CARDS: County residents may purchase photo identification cards at any of the three golf courses, entitling them to use of the County's automated tee-time reservation system and reduced green fees. Residents of Edison are eligible to purchase identification cards for reduced fees at Oak Ridge Golf Course only. A current green fee schedule is available at each course.
PRO SHOP: At each course, golfers will find a fully stocked pro shop run by independently contracted Class "A" PGA Professionals. Balls, tees, markers, hats, clubs, bags, club covers, umbrellas, shirts and soft golf-spikes are only a sampling of the type of merchandise you may find upon entering any of the shops. Club rentals are also available. Pro Shops are open by 8:00 AM until at least 4:00 PM daily, whenever the course is open.
GOLF LESSONS: Each golf pro is a qualified teaching professional. Private lessons are offered for golfers of all levels, from beginners who want to learn the basics to experienced golfers wanting to perfect the game. Choose from a single half-hour lesson, cost saving books of either three or six half-hour lessons or a nine-hole playing lesson. Lessons are given by appointment only and can be arranged by calling the golf pro at the desired course.
JR. GOLF CAMP: During the summer months, youngsters ages 12 through 17 can take part in Junior Golf Camp. Two, eight-day sessions are held at each course. For two hours a day, golf professionals introduce campers to the proper grip and stance; short irons; medium irons; long irons; woods; putting & chipping; and basic golf rules and etiquette.
OTHER SERVICES: Each clubhouse features a full-service snack bar. Gas cars and pull carts are available to rent. A single rider accessible cart is available at each course but a phone call to check on the availability of the single rider accessible cart is recommended. Golfers who want to establish a USGA handicap may do so through the pro shop at their course.
TOURNAMENTS: A full range of golf tournaments for all age groups invites patrons to test their skills against fellow golfers. Each summer's schedule features public links tournaments for Union County's men, women, senior men and women, boys and girls, best ball tournaments and a club championship at each course. |
