Hazardous Materials Awareness-Level I

This course is designed to give First Responders an "awareness" of hazardous materials. It teaches students to identify a hazardous substance, gather information about it, and report the information accurately.

Hazardous Materials Operations-Level II

This course is the next step after Awareness. It teaches First Responders to react in a DEFENSIVE fashion without actually coming into contact with the substance. They will learn how to control an incident from a safe distance and keep the substance from spreading.

Incident Command System

This course teaches the procedures for controlling personnel, facilities, equipment, and communications at any type or size of incident. It explores the five major function areas: Command, Operations, Planning, Logistics, and Finance. It also talks about Unified Command structure and the use of common terminology.
