The Fire Safety Trailer is used to teach children about fire safety in the home. It is a mock two story home, complete with a kitchen, living room, and bedroom. The children are taught about fires in and around the stove, the operation and importance of smoke detectors, and how to stop, drop and roll. The trailer also has a smoke machine to demonstrate how blinding a smoke filled room can be. The children also learn how to stay low in a fire and evacuate from a rescue ladder.
The trailer can be seen throughout the County during special events. It is available to every fire department within Union County anytime of the year. Contact your local fire department to see if the fire safety trailer is coming to your town soon! |
