The Union County Fire Training Academy is committed to expand the skills and create a team of dedicated firefighters to protect our citizens of Union County.

In 1997, the County of Union through the Office of Emergency Management, formed a partnership with the Union County Fire Chief's Association in order to enhance firefighter education. The advantage of this affiliation is the bringing together of combined resources with the purpose of training both the paid and volunteer firefighters as "professionals".

Our Instructional staff are experienced professionals from both the police and fire services.

We invite you to participate in our programs.

The Fire Academy has:

•a three story burn building, used to simulate fires
in a wide range of structures;

•two classrooms for various teaching applications;

•a flash over trailer to simulate fire flash overs and

•confined space equipment for rescue training.

The Academy also has an antique 1959 Pirsch 80 foot Hook and
Ladder Truck.
