1

Union County Surrogate James S. LaCorte discussed wills, estate planning and related issues with about 20 faculty and staff members of Union County College last Thursday. The Union County College Foundation sponsored the informational brown-bag lunch at the Executive Education Center on the Cranford campus.

Surrogate LaCorte provided information about the “three documents” that most people ask him about: the Last Will and Testament, the Living Will and a Trust. He also explained how the probate process works in New Jersey.

“Educating the public about these important issues and listening to their concerns is a significant part of my job as Union County Surrogate,” he said. “The importance of having a proper last will and testament cannot be overstated.”
