County Officials Join U.S. Coast Guard Tour

Union County Sheriff Ralph Froehlich (L) joins Union County Freeholders Bette Jane Kowalski and Angel G. Estrada on the ship, the Katharine Walker, during a recent U.S. Coast Guard tour of New York Harbor and the Arthur Kill to review oil spill preparedness and response, as well as the incident command system. The tour also highlighted the joint effort of federal and local officials to maintain Homeland Security along New Jersey’s waterways, including the stretch from Newark Airport to Port Elizabeth that terrorism experts have dubbed, "The most dangerous two miles in America."
