Follow Union County on Twitter

Union County, NJ – Union County residents have a new way to get news and information, by following Freeholder Chairman Daniel P. Sullivan on Twitter.   The account can be accessed at http://twitter.com/freeholderdan.

“Numerous local, state and federal governments now use Twitter to help keep their constituents informed,” said Sullivan.  “By providing another vehicle for outreach, we can help more citizens engage in civic affairs, get the best out of the programs and services we offer, and learn about events and activities throughout the area.”

Sullivan plans to use Twitter to help keep County residents informed about civic meetings, community activities and other public events that he attends, in addition to County news and information of particular interest.

The Twitter account will also help raise awareness about events that have become popular Union County traditions such as the free Summer Arts outdoor concert series, Family Flix outdoor movies, and the annual two-day MusicFest.

“The new social media have provided us with a great opportunity to get the word out about Union County’s rich diversity of people, neighborhoods, and cultural events,” said Sullivan, a lifelong resident of Union County.
