
The Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs promotes and develops public interest and participation in the arts and local, county and state history, and ensures that all residents have the opportunity to share in and benefit from the rich multi-cultural arts, history and historic resources in Union County. Activities enhance quality of life, economic development, community revitalization, growth of cultural-heritage tourism and enhanced educational experiences for residents of all ages.
Annual programs include the Teen Arts Festival (March), Employee Art Show (May), Senior Citizens Art Show (June) and Four Centuries in a Weekend and Art in the Gardens (October). |
On-going services include technical assistance workshops for nonprofit arts and history organizations and individual artists, Care for Caregivers Program, gallery exhibits, three grant programs and publications about Union County arts and history.
The Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs is pleased to have received a Citation of Excellence from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for achieving the highest standard of excellence as recognized by its peers, and for the eleventh consecutive designation as a Major Service Organization in recognition of its solid history of service, excellence, substantial activity and broad public service as determined by its peers. |
