As the County Clerk I am pleased to acquaint you with the broad range of services and functions our office performs. From the recording and filing of all land transactions within the 21 municipalities of our county to the processing of Passports, we are always available to assist and direct you in your needs.

COUNTY CLERK ID CARD DISCONTINUED

Effective January 1, 2010 the Union County Clerk's Office will no longer issue county identification cards. Citizens requiring official photo ID are urged to obtain one or both of the following documents recognized by the Federal goverment under the REAL ID guidelines: a U.S. Passport Book and/or U.S. passport Card which can be applied for at the Union County Clerks Office in Elizabeth or Westfield. For application requirements, please go to www.ucnj.org/ctyclerk/passport.html

Significant changes mandated by the federal government through the Department of Homeland Security require that government issued ID's meet heightened security requirements. Under the the REAL ID Federal guidelines, County Clerk ID cards will no longer be accepted by any Federal agency or any other official purpose.
