Skilled nursing, home health aide, and homemaker services ease the burdens of extended home care, enabling senior citizens to maintain maximum independence in their homes. Services include homemaking, personal care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work, nutrition counseling, and medical health counseling. Some of these are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance; others are funded by state and county social service agencies.
