Nutrition

Nutrition services are provided via two programs. Congregate Nutrition program is a senior lunch program designed to maximize independence and dignity for seniors and socialization opportunities. Meals-on-Wheels provides home-delivered meals to county residents who because of illness or physical disability are unable to provide their own meals.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be 60 years of age or older or anyone married to a person 60 years of age or older.

Income Guidelines and Resources

None

Each participant will have the opportunity to make a confidential suggested voluntary donation of $1.50 per meal. Donations are used to offset the cost of the meals and to expand the program.

Meals-on-Wheels

A home-delivered meals program administered through Meals on Wheels, a private non-profit agency, and funded through the Division on Aging. Meals-on-Wheels serves home delivered meals to County residents who, because of illness or physical disability are unable to provide their own meals. The program aids individuals in maintaining a degree of independence by keeping them from hospitalization.

Eligibility Requirements

Elderly individuals or couples who are unable to prepare a nutritious meal. Homebound handicapped individuals. Any person 60 years or older or anyone married to a person 60 years or older.

There are no income guidelines for this program. Donations are accepted. No senior citizen will be denied service due to inability to pay.
